Kings, princes and nobles in Rajasthan built mansions, forts and palaces to encourage artisans to express their talent with uninterrupted freedom. These imperial homes were befitting pleasure cocoons that suited the lifestyles of the brave Rajputs.
In the post-independence era, the democratic government in India abolished the Privy Purse and regal titles, consequently it became nearly impossible for royal descendants to maintain these palaces and most of them were destined to ruins.
