Day 3 : Thekkady
Enjoy an ethnic raft tour on Lake Periyar. Made of bamboo poles bound together by thick coir ropes these local raft are strong, sturdy and delightfully romantic. Watch wildlife, take pictures and enjoy a packed lunch on board the raft.
Embark on the banks in late in the afternoon. Drive to the hotel for dinner and overnight rest.
Day 4 : Thekkady - Kumarakom
Enjoy a 5-hour drive to Kumarakom in Kerala, India. Check in at a hotel on arrival in Kumarakom. See a unique green world aglow with warm rays of the tropical sun.
See green paddy fields and mangrove forests as you enjoy surreal Kumarakom that is much more then a mere backwater destination.
Day 5 : Kumarakom - Alleppey Houseboat Cruise
Embark on a luxury houseboat cruise to Alleppey. Kerala houseboats are known as Kettuvalloms and some of them are more than 100 years old. Fitted with every possible luxury amenity these ethnic crafts were used as rice barges in the olden days when local farm produce was carted from one village to another on board these 'coir and wood' crafts.
Spend the night on board the Kerala houseboat.
Day 6 : Alleppey - Cochin
Disembark at Alleppey and set out on a drive to Cochin from where you continue your onward journey.
